Breakfast Buddies

Last year, the Breakfast Club proved very popular, so it was decided to continue this year. It starts at 7:15 and ends 8:15, when the bell goes for the children to go to school. It is a real bargain, as it only costs £3 for a morning.
During the club, the children eat a nutritious breakfast- either toast or cereal. The club is very artistic and creative and lets the children express their feelings through art. They also get to play a variety of games.

The Nativity

The Nativity/Carol Concert is being held in St.Joseph's Church on Wednesday,7:00pm. This year it is about the fourth wise man called Artaban, who got lost in the middle of the desert. The actors are Year 5 children, and both the Junior and Senior choir will be providing the singing.

WE HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY!!!!!!!

Up on the roof

Just as you probably have noticed, we are having the Library roof repaired. Everyone must stay on the main playground and stay away from any building materials in the Year Six area. It is for our own safety! The roof has been damaged for some time, so when it has rained, the ceiling in the Library hasleaked. Hopefully, when they finish repairing it, leaks will be a thing of the past. Just remember, stay away from the Yr 6 area!

The new football book for playleaders

We have just introduced a new book for Football at lunchtimes, to help organise who was where in the line and prevent disputes. It's a big help for many people including you and the playleaders. Its a great way to keep the football going smoothly, or otherwise there will be no football and we know you don't want that!

Guy Fawkes Night

This Saturday was Bonfire Night, in other words Guy Fawkes night. That day is called Guy Fawkes day because Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament. Unfortunately, Guy Fawkes hired a very unreliable person, that informed his friend in Parliament that they were going to blow up Parliament on that day and his friend reported him to the King. Guy Fawkes was executed, along with his fellow conspirators.
That's were we get Bonfire Night. I hope you all had fun watching the fire works!

Wrap up warm

As the weather gets colder, the clocks go back and the nights get darker,we need to wear warm clothes and wrap up in coats. Remember to wear a coat to school because you will need it at break time in this cold weather. Gloves and scarves will also be a good idea too.
So, wrap up warm and enjoy the winter!

Trick or Treat

Can you believe we are in school on Halloween? In the past, it has happened very rarely, but hopefully it won't happen as much in the future!
Are you going trick or treating this year?
When you go out Trick or Treating, don't eat too many sweets as we have school the next day and don't stay out too long! Remember, if houses have pumpkins out then it is safe, but if not... Just stay away from those houses. Have a trick up your sleeve because some people are quite cheeky and will ask for a trick. Plus, it will probaly bring you more sweets too!

Chess Club

As Chess Club was a great success last year, Mrs.Stevenson has decided that, with Mr Rigby's help, she will try again this year. So far, the year 5s are having a great time. A year 5 said "I really enjoy the club. It's a chance for us to learn how to play chess!" The child said it also makes you smart. Concentration helps to win the match. Maybe we have some future professional chess players! Or maybe not.

Anyway, we love all your clubs so keep them going Mrs.Stevenson!

New time when school ends.

Parents have always had to wait quite a while for their Junior children when they have already collected their Infant children. So, when all the junior children come back from the summer holidays, school will now end at 3:25. It usually ends at 3:35! A letter was sent out by Mrs.Lee to see what the parents think. So now the school will end at 3:25.! :)

Going to the airport

A couple of months ago, the Luton airport set a competition to design a picture to go into their multi-faith room. In 5LB, a girl called Laelite was one of the many children across the town to win. At the airport, people amalgamated the pictures together to make one final design. Children in 5LB were extremely excited as they were going to the airport, as a prize. Laelite and her class were invited to eat their lunch in the multi-faith room. At the airport, children in 5LB enjoyed there day out. Watching passengers leave in planes, Miss Binnington and her class longed to go on holiday!
