The caterpillars came!!!
As part of our Life Cycles work, Year 5 classes have had caterpillars in our rooms for the last week or so. Our class has 9 caterpillars, which have grown huge over the few days, and have now become chrysalis. We have moved them into the 'Butterfly Garden' net. Maybe next week we'll have butterflies!!

Year 3 Celebration Mass
As it has been a special year for the new children that joined St Joseph's Junior School in September, the Year 3s are having an end of year Celebration Mass. In the morning of the celebration mass, our youngest students have been doing workshops, including decorating cookies, making bookmarks and badges.
On the 24th of June, children in Year 3 have been conscientiously preparing for the Mass. All parents of year 3 children have been invited to come along. Lucky them, they will be given the cookies their children have decorated.
A lovely end to this special year.

New Canopies!!
As some are aware, the Year 3 playground now has new canopies which have been fantastically done. The canopies have been on the school wish list for many years. Mrs Lee is glad that they have been successfully finished. We will all benefit from the shade in the summer, and 5BG and 5LB are pleased to have such a useable extension to their classrooms!

Chess Tournament.
Year 5 have been doing a chess tournament for the last 3 weeks. We have still got a few re-matches to complete. It's been really fun and exciting although it can be quite nerve wracking! Sadly its coming to an end. Mrs Stevenson and Mr Rigby have been very kind to give up their time, and have been judging each of the matches very carefully!!:) Keep watching for the winners!
